Questions and comments
I know I'm going to sound like a Johnny come lately, but I swear I came up with this very idea a couple of months ago, but didn't have the ability to create the website.
That being said, it seems to me there needs to be a way to support activists financially if they actually go to jail. There should be more money available to those who spend more time in jail. Let's say, for example somebody gets locked up for two days. Maybe we would give them a hundred bucks. But say, somebody like Big MIke gets thrown in for two weeks, that guys just missed out on two weeks worth of work. That's half a month's living expenses. He should probably get about $1000 cash. That way liberty activists don't have to worry about getting evicted when they go to jail.
This will really allow people to live like free individuals with less worry about the repurcussions. Get thrown in jail for 6 months? No problem. Here's twelve grand! BOOM, the state is impotent. Of course, I think this has the potential to get much more than 10 grand a month. I could see it growing and growing. What I might do though, is set up a donation amount that offers a level of protection. I know, I'm sure this is illegal, but hey, can't I dream?
So, what that means is that you donate $10 a month, you get free legal representation if you get into trouble. $50 a month and you get your rent paid for while you're in jail etc. etc.
Now for the questions. Where does the money go? Is it going into a bank account that the board of directors has control over? Do you guys pay taxes on the money coming and going? Any chance of civil disobedience in that arena? Or is it too early for that? Is there a way for us to read the by-laws of this organization? That would be nice. Once those few questions get answered you can count on me setting up a monthly donation, and I don't even live in New Hampshire yet!
